Day 45: St Kilda Festival

Today was Valentines and my amazing boyfriend kicked the day off my 1) letting me go to the gym 2) treating me to an amazing breakfast at Grey & Bliss. I had the Bliss Benedict – smashed avocado on sourdough with pulled pork, two poached eggs and hollandaise sauce.  In my starving post gym state I forgot to take a picture. Google doesn’t even have a suitable replacement to show you how amazing this breakfast was. Which ultimately means I will need to go back and reorder the breakfast just so I can take a picture.

After the epic feast we headed down to St Kilda Festival. The entirely free program features nearly 80 live acts across 10 stages, along with market stalls, carnival rides, workshops and activities.

We spent most of our time on the Songwriter stage. The best act by far was Andrew Loadsman; he sounded a bit like James Arthur from the 2012 Xfactor.

On the main stage we saw a band called The Beards – who by definition only sing about Beards with a 80s type musical vibe – think guitars and saxophone. Quite an entertaining bunch.

Now rather than exchanging the generic Valentines cards this year Jules and I decided it was time to fill in the books I brought us for Christmas “What I Love about Us Fill in the Love Journal”. This little book contains fill-in-the-blank lines to describe what you love about being in a twosome. So for example it might say:

“it’s incredibly sweet when we ………”

Or “we always have the greatest time when …….”.

We mixed the answers up with a mix of romantic, hilarious and sarcastic answers. I was going to post some pictures of the actual book with a few comments, but wanted to keep it personal so just uploaded some generic pics (and I have to take into consideration both our families read this ha).

Ozzy Observations:

Observation of The Day: Jules and I have such similar minds, thoughts and humor. Our comments in the book were almost identical on most of the pages. Its like we have molded into the same person. Dumb and Dumber style.

Today’s Finds: Eggs Benedict with pulled pork is my new favorite breakfast. On another note being the amazing girlfriend I am I told Jules about how he can change his IP address from an Australian to a UK one so he can watch SkyGo on his iPad and all the footie and sport he has been missing in the UK. Which means….. I am now sleeping alone – 4am he was up watching Tottenham play. What have I done?????

Animal Watch: Still quiet on the animal front. By definition some of the festival goers resembled animals by the end of the evening.
