Today was our last day at Sepyak Villas. We got up,early, packed our bags, ate breakfast, had a cheeky last Indonesian Massage and got on our way. We crossed to Gili T on a fast boat and arrived to a super crazy, bustling island at 2ish.
We were staying at Wilsons Retreat, which is north of the island. The ferry gets you in to the west side, so we had to trudge two suitcases about 45mins across sand ridden paths. Needless to say this wasn’t at all easy. Jules had to bust out a fireman’s style carry for parts of the walk across the sand dunes and along small rocky walls often with 5-7f backdrops into the sea. We finally made it to the villa around 3.
Wilson’s Retreat is a small boutique hotel set on a gorgeous strand of white sandy beach on the quiet north coast of Gili Trawangan (away from the main strip thank god!). The location at the far end of the island lends itself to peaceful, lazy days lounging in the sun waiting for the most amazing sunsets over Bali’s volcano.
After a quick coffee I persuaded Jules to go for a walk around the Island, informing him it would only take 30mins.Two and a head hours later we arrived back to Wilsons (Jules was very unimpressed, apparently I read the cycle time vs the walking time). Although we now completely have our bearings, know where all the best restaurants and bars are (and what to avoid) and to top it all I got a pair of boardies so my bum will no longer burn when snorkeling.
Dinner was epic. We had cocktails and seafood. Nuff said.
