Day 10:
After a lazy morning, we left Queenstown and headed to Lake Pukaki, a shimmering blue jewel that sets against a backdrop of Aoraki/Mountain Cook, the highest mountain in New Zealand.
Most of the time Mt. Cook is clouded over. Needless to say, when we finally arrived, you couldn’t even see a glimpse of Mt. Cook.
As the weather was meant to pick up the next day, we decided to stay next to the lake, in the hope the cloud would clear at sunrise and Mt. Cook would reveal itself.
Day 11:
We were in luck. Jules and I emergered from slumber about 6am to watch the sunrise and the cloud shift from the lake.
After we took our snaps, we headed to Christchurch to drop off the campervan and head home, after a fantastic, fun filled 11 days on the road.
The perfect mix of adventure and scenic beauty, I would highly recommend this trip to anyone!
